sweetly broken, wholly surrendered.

take your thoughts captive.

praise God for providing enough peace and grace to last one day.
as my head hits the pillow each night, my strength wanes,
but sweet relief comes in the form of sleep.
and as i wake up, so do his mercies start afresh.

in pondering life, it has come to my attention that God wants for us to feel clear headed, strong minded and fully capable of taking on what lies ahead. he just doesn't want us to forget that all things include him. without that, all bets are off.

each day, i am choosing to be fully aware and vested in my surroundings.
learning to heighten my senses and realize that there is truth in everything from the rain to those annoying traffic lights that turn yellow at a really awkward time, so you either have to be feel panic as you blow through and scan all around for police, or feel anger as you slam on your already extremely worn out brake pads...

seeking peace is a choice. a decision we make to wake up and verbally commit to allow God to give it to us that day. it is not something to be taken for granted, but something that will become stronger the more fervently we are seeking it out and the greater our appreciation for it becomes.

praise the lord, oh my soul.
